I really enjoyed this sweet and wonderful story! Everyone who enjoys historical romance would adore this stress-free, splendid novella.
Love from Afar is set in the 1880s, two best friends, Tillie and Lula, become self-appointed matchmakers.
Without including any spoilers here are three quotes to give you a little insight to the pure joy and meaningful thoughts you will encounter as you read Love from Afar. While contemplating their matchmaking plan, Tillie thought: “After all, if they couldn’t discover a new world like Christopher Columbus or sew the American flag like Betsy Ross, they could certainly make a difference for all humanity in their own small way.” How cute is that? Yet and still, it is profound truth, is it not? The second quote is from Widow Jones: “I am blessed. I don’t know what I’d do without the Body of Christ. You have all been gracious to me in my time of need. How do people go through rough times without Jesus and the ones He calls to help us?” That gets you thinking, doesn’t it? And finally, the third quote: “Quit it. You’ve given the situation to the Lord. It’s only fitting you let Him handle it.” How many times have we laid something before the Lord and then ripped it out of His loving and healing hands?
I greatly appreciated and was delighted with the humor and faith content! I am looking forward to reading everything this author, Penny Zeller, offers.
