Warren Wiersbe’s Becoming New: 100 Days of Transformation through God's Word, edited by his grandson Dan Jacobsen, is a journey—a thoughtful, prayerful, and powerful walk through Scripture that invites you to experience real transformation day by day. This isn’t a quick-read, feel-good type of book. Instead, it challenges you to dive deeper into God’s Word and let His truth shape every corner of your life.

Each day begins with a clear focus—a title and Scripture references that set the stage. The real growth, however, happens as Wiersbe provides a short thought, takes you deeper with practical, heart-stirring reflections, and follows up with questions designed to linger and provoke. I’ve found myself reflecting on these questions and applying the truths long after, as they push me to integrate what I’ve read into my daily life.

What sets Becoming New apart is how Wiersbe challenges you to move beyond simply knowing the truth. He pushes you to love it, then live it out in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is a devotional centered on daily transformation—renewing your mind and heart with God’s Word.

One of my favorite parts? The thought-provoking questions and application steps. These aren’t just afterthoughts—they’re pivotal. Some days, I felt like I was doing soul-deep homework (in the best way), wrestling with how to live out the truth in my everyday life. It’s practical, it’s real, and it’s what makes this devotional stand out.

Years ago, Warren Wiersbe’s study guide on Revelation completely shifted my approach to Bible study. It pushed me to dig into Scripture verse by verse and gave me a deeper passion for God’s Word. So, when I picked up Becoming New, I knew I was in for something life-changing, and it hasn’t disappointed.

The focus here is true heart transformation. Wiersbe reminds us that transformation is a daily process, one that requires continually renewing our minds through God's truth. What I appreciate most is his reminder to let the Holy Spirit guide this process, relying on His strength, not our own.

Each entry feels like sitting down with a trusted mentor. Wiersbe’s wisdom, paired with his grandson’s thoughtful editing, makes the devotional approachable without losing any depth. By the time you finish, you’ll have walked through key themes of the Bible, with your eyes opened to new connections and your heart softened to God’s transformative work in your life.

Although I haven’t completed all 100 days yet, I can already tell this is one I’ll be coming back to over and over again. There’s just so much richness here -- I know I’ll discover new insights each time I go through as I submit to God and His truths. Becoming New is the kind of devotional that grows with you, revealing fresh truths as you continue to walk with God.

Wiersbe’s love for Scripture is contagious, and by the end of this journey, you’ll find yourself knowing God’s Word more deeply and loving it more fiercely. This isn’t a quick-fix devotional—it’s a guide for lasting, lifelong transformation. And trust me, it’s one you don’t want to miss.I received a digital version of Becoming New: 100 Days of Transformation through God’s Word through the publisher, David C. Cook.
